Ethics in the Classroom
It is our goal that Brandon Classical Christian School be a safe environment for students, employees and family alike, and to be a school that our community can trust with their children. Therefore, it is essential that all staff members hold to a high standard of ethical conduct in the classroom inn keeping with the Word of God and the laws of this country, state and county.
At any time you observe any of the above behaviors, please contact one of the following:
Sheryl Eggert, director of Westminster Academy and Brandon Classical Christian school @ 813-684-3118 or sheryl@wpcbrandon.org
Jeremy Fuller, Headmaster of Brandon Classical Christian School @ 813-689-6541 or jeremy@wpcbrandon.org

- Obscene language, including profanity, sexual innuendos, blasphemy, or any other offensive or rude language is not to be used in any part of the school by any member of the school’s staff, whether in the classroom, the hallway, the break area, the office, or anywhere on school property.
- Profanity is defined as any word which may be considered obscene, dirty, or insulting, or which is used to communicate dirty, insulting, obscene, or crude subjects or ideas. When a word can be considered profane in some context, but is not profane in others, the staff member is advised to exercise caution in using such words to avoid misunderstandings.
- sexual innuendos describes any communication, phrase, joke, etc. which is meant to communicate subjects of a sexual nature without direct use of sexual wording.
- blasphemy refers to any language which dishonors or misuses the name of God, any of the three persons of the Trinity, or which disparages, or makes light of the Word of God, it’s content, teachings, and promises.
- This includes the use of or circulating of any media content in video, written, or audio form that may be considered obscene under any of the above descriptions, including but not limited to: articles of clothing, written materials, texts, internet sites, social media posts and videos, or songs and other audio material.
- There is to be no alcohol use on school grounds at any times.
- Only appropriate over the counter medicines and medications with a valid prescription may be used on school grounds. These medications must not interfere with the teacher's/staff members ability to stay awake, focus, react, be aware of their surroundings and the children under their care.
- Verbal abuse in any form is not tolerated at Brandon Classical Christian School. All communication is to be done in love--first and foremost, in the love of Christ, and in love for the person we are talking to. God warns us in His Word that everyone will have to give account for every careless word that they speak, and that words spoken in anger fall under the category of murder, for it proceeds from the same sin of the heart (see Matt. 5:21,22; 13:36).
- Verbal abuse is defined as any words spoken or written to a person which demean, insult, harass, embarrass, belittle, or manipulate a person or persons, or which is spoken in anger, frustration, etc., to do the same.
- BCCS acknowledges that perfect communication is hard to have, and that sometimes misunderstandings happen. We encourage anyone who feels insulted by something said to them to approach the other person first for clarification, in accordance with Matt. 18:15-20. If this does not lead to a resolution of the issue, then please talk to either the director or the headmaster. And then the head pastor of Westminster Presbyterian church, or the board of directors as needed.
- Verbal abuse is defined as any words spoken or written to a person which demean, insult, harass, embarrass, belittle, or manipulate a person or persons, or which is spoken in anger, frustration, etc., to do the same.
- Prejudice or bigotry towards any ethnic group, race, gender, or belief is not allowed. As a Christian organization, we see to uphold Christ’s standard, which is to treat other people as we ourselves would be treated, no matter their ethnicity, culture, race, or even belief. This means we treat even those with whom we disagree with grace, respect, and love, even as Jesus loved us and died on the cross for us who were His enemies (Romans 5:8).
- Physical Aggression towards anyone will not be tolerated at Brandon Classical Christian School. Physical Aggression is defined as any action towards a person which threatens to act to physically affect a person in a hostile manner with the intent to harm, injure, accost, threaten, or frighten someone. Such acts can range from a shove, to throwing an object at a person, to striking the person with one’s hand, or an object held in one’s hand.
- At times a teacher may need to restrain a child for their own safety or the safety of another. Any time this is necessary, it must be done with gentleness, patience, and along with communication to the child in a way that makes your intention clear. Any necessary restraining of a child for their own safety MUST NOT be done with impatience or anger, or unreasonable methods.
- Accepting or offering favors means giving or receiving preferential treatment to a student, often in exchange for something like good grades, special access, or personal benefits. This is not allowed in any form at Brandon Classical Christian School. All staff and students are here to serve the Lord, not themselves, and we serve a God for whom unjust scales are an abomination, (Proverbs 11:1); "You shall not pervert justice. You shall not show partiality, and you shall not accept a bribe, for a bribe blinds the eyes of the wise and subverts the cause of the righteous." (Deuteronomy 16:19).
